It is really here! SPRING! Can you see me dance? I am Dancing!
I am also getting ready for the  BEAD BONANZA this Sunday.
It is a great show  & great chance to hook up with bead makers who I don't get to see nearly often enough.
Hopefully I'll see you there.

What's shakin'?

Not a whole lot has been happening around here this last month, other then everybody taking turns getting sick at my house.  It has been a LOW ENERGY month. Sort of like a winter hibernation. Maybe I am just a fancy type of bear.  I think that would explain my whole winter attitude.
But there is good news! Spring is on its way, I'm excited to do so some new projects, get my work back into some galleries, teach my art journal class & lots of other groovy things.  The weatherman says its going to be warm today. I can already feel myself thaw.
More about all these things later!  Ciao!

Looking Forward

I have found teaching this winter a  very satisfying experience. My Spirit Doll class was a great adventure in creativity and expression. I felt proud of the women that were with me. They did an absolute amazing job of making their dolls come to life.
I am looking forward with great excitement to my next class "Introduction to Art Journaling".
It begins on Monday, March 2nd, 7 to 9 pm. It runs for 8 weeks.
The cost is $80.
Everyone is welcome and no artistic experience is needed.
It will be a fun and inspirational class for people who want to open up their lives to the art that is all around them and flowing through their lives. It will be a celebration of spirit.
Each class will focus on a basic art technique and a journaling technique or prompt. We will explore things like various supplies and their different uses and techniques, painting and collage, mixed media,  using themes, and so many more exciting things that are bouncing around in my head I can hardly contain myself!
I think it is going to be an amazing creative exploration.

REJOICE

I am looking forward to the inauguration of Barack Obama tomorrow. It has been a long time since I feel like rejoicing in my Country's accomplishments.  I am hopeful this will be the start of a new kind of America, one where it is not us against them, rich against the poor, red against blue, black against white. I truth is we will all sink or swim together, and this is a good thing. There are no parts of this country that are more American then others.
For tomorrow I will just be happy I will REJOICE.

HOPE, COURAGE, DREAM, IMAGINE, INSPIRE

HOPE, COURAGE, DREAM, IMAGINE, INSPIRE, these are some of the words that come to mind when I think about the events  of this past week.  I believe there is finally a light at the end of a long dark tunnel. These are my new tea lights to celebrate a new beginning. I have them listed on etsy.

Celebrate Your Freedom

In the USA, in 1917, scores of woman were jailed and savagely beaten by guards for demanding the right to vote.

In the USA, beatings shootings arson and murder were tactics used to keep blacks from voting for almost 100 years after the emancipation proclamation. The voting rights act in 1965  insured  black voting rights ending a Jim Crow South

1987 Haitians were killed by gangs armed with machine guns and machetes while lining up to vote.

In 2005 at least 50 iraqis were killed by bomb and morter attacks as they tried to exercise their right to vote in the first free election in decades

All you have to do is get off your ass.
There are no excuses.
VOTE!
